What types and sizes of indenters are available?

We offer spherical indenters made of tungsten carbide with diameters of 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm, and Vickers indenters with diamond tips in a pyramidal shape.

Can one indenter be used to measure multiple properties?

Yes, Frontics’ equipment uses a 250 μm spherical indenter for strength and fracture toughness measurements, while a Vickers indenter is used for hardness and residual stress measurements.

What are the movement speed and maximum travel distance of the indenter?

The indenter module moves at a speed of 0.05–30 mm/min, with a test speed of 0.3 mm/min and a maximum travel distance of 40 mm.

Why are spherical indenters assigned unique numbers?

Spherical indenters have slight variations in radius due to precision manufacturing. Each spherical indenter is assigned a unique number with an accurately measured radius for precise calibration in the analysis program.

Can the equipment be used without cables?

Yes, when equipped with a Bluetooth module, the equipment can operate wirelessly for up to 1 km in open spaces or up to 30 m indoors.
Maintenance
What is the recommended recalibration interval and procedure after one year of equipment use?
